The Norway spruce - Picea abies is a common site both in forestry lands and urban gardens all over the northern hemisphere.

In the UK it is the most common species to be used as a Christmas tree, and reminders of Christmas past can be found growing in many a front garden or pot by a door - the remnants of that happy day.

Also commonly used in commercial forestry for timber and of course a wild tree grows throughout Europe from Norway in the northwest and Poland eastward, and also in the mountains of central Europe, southwest to the western end of the Alps, and southeast in the Carpathians and Balkans to the extreme north of Greece. The northern limit is in the arctic.

These are low polygon plants for use in mid to distant renders, and in instancing, one plant and its instances, with slight variations in its y rotation and scale values can look like many different ones. Because they a low poly plants, the detail may not be as good close up as a higher resolution model, however they are great in the background or mid scene and of course will work well in instancing and can be introduced in to plugins like Ultra scenery by using the Alienator.
